Cabo San Lucas attractions, where history meets the modern way
Previously the Cabo San Lucas was a small fishing port. It was only accessible from La Paz city. The Airport of San Jose del Cabo was expanded in the late 1970’s and this place had turned into a favorite beach holiday destination during 1980’s to 1990’s. The old town is known as San Jose del Cabo, which is known for the type attribute of a Mexican town. The main town is located about 20 miles southwest from the Airport. This main town is famous for the modern lifestyle, marine life, water activities, beautiful beaches and many more attractions.
Arch of Cabo San Lucas
The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a formation of rock located in the middle of the sea. The place is colloquially known as ‘El Arco’. Along with the amazing shapes and beautiful scenarios, this place is also famous for the presence of sea lions. This place is also known as the “Land’s End” as exactly in this place the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean.
Lover’s Beach
The trip to Cabo san Lucas cannot be completed without visiting some of the famous beaches of this destination. The term lover’s beach itself raises the curiosity about this beach. Although, the peace, and tranquility you are expecting to find in this beach are not on the offer. Located close to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas the lover’s beach is a beautiful beach without the luxury of beach bars and the other facilities. Yet, the relaxing atmosphere and the beach stretch are quite impressive for the travelers.
Las Playitas
This is not a single beach; rather it is a collection of small beaches adjacent to the lover’s beach. The underwater visibility of these beaches is great. Thus, the idea of snorkeling is great on this beach.
Divorce Beach
Although the name signifies the beach of a broken relationships, this beach is perfect for lovers. The adventure lovers can opt for a round trip to the glass boat to this beach for observing the sea creatures. This beach is located very close to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas and Lover’s Beach. The granite rock foundation of this beach is also very impressive.
Médano Beach
This beautiful beach located in the Cabo Bay is an excellent beach that offers all kinds of activities a traveler can seek. From the sunbathing to a wide range of Seafood, this beach can offer you everything. The popular water sports like Parasailing, Jet Skiing are most common on this beach. The boat trip to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas or lover’s beach can also be done from here.
Chileno Beach
The Chileno beach or the playa de Chileno possesses the crystal clear water which offers the visitors the gorgeous glimpse of the sea life below. The sea creatures like sea turtles, eels, starfishes, the tropical fishes are available in this beach. This beach thus gives you excellent opportunities to snorkeling and diving. You can also opt for a snorkeling tour to the playa Chileno from the marina of the Cabo Bay.
Playa Solmar
The Solmar beach or Playa Solmar is an excellent beach located very close to the Marina. The term Solmar signifies ‘Sunsea’. This beach provides an excellent view of the sunset and sunrise. The playa Solmar is excellent for Whale watching. Give a trip to the Whale Watcher Bar to enjoy the whales with a glass of cocktail in hand.
